BEC offers other informal activities besides formal
classes. Over the last year there were trips to:
- Horniman Museum, where we took part in the Refugee Celebration
Day activities;
- Tate Modern, where a member of the art gallery’s staff showed
us paintings and sculptures and answered our questions;
- Museum of London: some of us had been reading and writing about
how the South Bank of the Thames has been changing and wanted
to learn about its history.
- Livesey Museum: this was a trip by maths learners to see the
‘Magnificent 12 exhibition;
- Hastings: about 50 adults and children went down to the coast
for the day, visiting the Aquarium and exploring the town;
- In Family Learning, the creche were involved in several events,
for example, on the themes of ‘Messy Play,’ ‘Our Bodies,’ ‘Making
a Book,’ ‘Songs and Music’ etc.
